Our Team

We have been blessed to receive overwhelming support and we want to keep growing. We found the most perfect location in the heart of North Beach, an iconic San Francisco neighborhood. Cassava is more than a place to eat and to work; this restaurant is in the hearts of so many in the community. We want to keep this place around for a long time.

Cassava is our pursuit to create the best food, service + restaurant possible 💪🏽

We opened Cassava in 2012 to serve up delicious food – but do it as equitably & ethically as possible. Since opening that original Balboa St location, we've grown our team, honed our supply chain operations, and become a community staple.

Here are some of our core commitments:

We’re committed to paying our team a San Francisco livable wage. We offer our employees fully covered health care. We use a whole-house tip pooling & progress flag.

We are committed to a no exploitation supply chain, buying only produce from caring, kind people we know.

We were committed to no COVID layoffs. Throughout the pandemic, we’ve followed stringent health and safety rules and guidelines to protect our community.
