Hello Wefunder Investors,

We’ve now concluded the third month since the Wefunder second round financing was successfully completed. As in previous months, I wanted to provide you with an update on the many things happening with our OodlesDeals mobile app, and overall at the company.

Burritos For Paradise

If you have been watching the news recently, you will know that Northern California, specifically the town of Paradise, has been devastated by fires that started earlier this month. Three of the four schools were OodlesDeals is available — CSU - Chico, UC - Davis and CSU - Sacramento — are in close proximity to the town of Paradise, with Chico in particular right next door. The hazardous smoke from these fires has prompted closure of the three schools for a significant portion of November.

The OodlesDeals management team, as well as the company’s Student Ambassadors at these schools, feel a sense of responsibility to act on behalf of the citizens of Paradise. We are working on events at each of these schools, immediately following the Thanksgiving break when the students return to school, to raise money for this cause. These events will be called “Burritos For Paradise”, and OodlesDeals will donate money to the residents of Paradise, for every transaction completed by students using the OodlesDeals app at the vendor-partner participating at the event. The below is an example of the event that has been organized at CSU - Chico.

I will provide more detail on these events in our next month’s update. I cannot fathom a better example of the OodlesDeals value proposition coming to life — the more you do together, the more you win (in this case the satisfaction of helping others in need) — than these upcoming events.

Student Engagement Statistics

October was the first full month of the school year when all four of the schools where OodlesDeals is available — U of O - Eugene, CSU - Chico, UC - Davis, and CSU - Sacramento — were in session for the entire month. It is therefore a good month to provide representational data on user engagement of the app throughout the month.

Two statistics of relevance are Monthly Active Users and Engaged Users.
We define Monthly Active Users as those who open the app at least once during the month, and Engaged Users as those who conduct several actions with the app — check out a deal or event in detail, go to an event or use a deal on the app being good examples. For those students signed into the app and opted in to provide data, Monthly Active Users for October ’18 was ~ 79% and Engaged Users was ~ 30%. These are some of the highest numbers seen since the app was launched in April ’17.

Summary

The fires in Northern California are a stark reminder that we are only as good as the community we live and contribute to. Everyone at OodlesDeals is committed to helping our neighbors in need during these difficult times - there is no better way for us to accomplish the mission we established when we created OodlesDeals.

This next statement is similar to one I’ve made in the past — Asheesh and I owe a big thanks to all of you who have helped us get to this point. We are all in this together!
