Metrics Review #2 — Vendor Transactions

Hello Wefunder Investors,

We’ve now concluded the seventh month since Oodles Corporation began our initial financing round with Wefunder, and importantly, the fourth month since the Wefunder financing was successfully completed and closed.  As in previous months, I wanted to provide you with an update on the many things happening with our Oodles - Deals & Events mobile app, and overall at the company.

University of California - Davis, 3rd School For The Oodles - Deals & Events App

In the November ’17 monthly update, I indicated that the Oodles Business Development team was busy readying the launch of our 3rd University — UC - Davis, in the heart of America’s wine country.  During this time, Pizza restaurants, Hot Dog joints, Food Trucks, and others located across Davis area signed up as vendor partners on the Oodles - Deals & Events app.  If you have the Oodles - Deals & Events app downloaded on your iOS or Android phone, you can switch your University affiliation in-app to UC - Davis and see all these deals on your own.

Oodles - Deals & Events was launched to students at UC - Davis via a ‘Free Pizza Day’ event at Steve’s Pizza, a long-established pizza restaurant in the Davis area.  The Oodles Student Ambassador team canvassed the University in the days leading up to the event, ensuring a significant percentage of the students at UC - Davis became aware of the app, and introducing them to the great deals available.  

Hundreds of new Oodles users came to the launch event, enjoyed the free pizza, and started telling other friends about Oodles - Deals & Events.  We will post some of the pictures of the launch event on the Oodles Twitter site, so please keep a look out!

With this launch, Oodles - Deals & Events is now at three Universities, as per plans in the initial Oodles Wefunder investment deck.

Revised Customer Flow Emphasizing The “Scorcher” tier Now Released 

The Oodles Product Team released in early January ’18 the second round of updated UI for the Oodles - Deals & Events app.  Focus groups with students in Chico & Eugene, completed in October & November ’17 provided the insights that drove this new round of product enhancements.

In this update, the “Scorcher’ tier was further emphasized and the sharing capability integral to the issuing of deal “badges” to the users was simplified.  If you have an older version of the app, please go to the App Store and update it to the latest version.  Once you have updated the app, make sure to go through the “Walkthrough”, the updated script makes much clearer how to attain Scorcher status, and the value this provides to the user.  

Feedback from students at the University of Oregon - Eugene and UC - Davis on this enhanced UI has been positive.  This new flow should also translate to further growth in per user engagement over the next few months.

As you know, this process is a patented protected one, and is what makes Oodles - Deals & Events truly unique and added-value to use.

User Engagement / Vendor Transaction Metrics

In this month’s report, we wanted to focus on vendor transactions, an important metric for the validation of the Oodles - Deals & Events value proposition.  Beginning in November ’17, the Oodles - Deals & Events app started generating revenue at both University of Oregon - Eugene & CSU - Chico.  UC - Davis will begin shortly.  Multiple vendors at both locations were invoiced for the marketing services being provided by Oodles - Deals & Events, as well as for the consumers coming into their retail locations and transacting via the deals on the app.

An example of one of these vendors is a burger restaurant in Chico.  Prior to engaging with Oodles, college students comprised a small percentage of their overall customer base.  Within a couple of months of signing with Oodles - Deals & Events, college students were coming to the restaurant on a daily basis, and daily transaction activity grew to more than 5x from initial levels.  This transaction volume should further increase as more Chico students sign up on the Oodles - Deals & Events app.  The number of paying vendors will also grow in the upcoming months, in each of the Universities Oodles - Deals & Events is available.

In the four months since the initial Wefunder financing round closed, and in reviewing the growth & metrics we’ve experienced to-date, we continue tracking in-line with the quantitative expectations outlined in the original investment proposal.

In future updates, I will provide case studies of customers that have signed up with Oodles - Deals & Events, and the specific benefits they have gained.
