Sensate is proud to be launching a pilot program with multiple returning players on the Howard University basketball team this year, including star player Blake Harper. 

Working with athletes in pursuit of improved recovery and empowering them with stronger mental, as well as physical fitness, has been a passion of Sensate, and we are looking forward to the support we can provide in this partnership.

Recent years have seen elite athletes bring mental health and resilience into the light. Sensate couldn’t agree more that empowering young people on the verge of their professional careers with more tools to help them skillfully navigate the excitement and challenges ahead is essential.

Howard Men’s Basketball is known as The Dream Factory because Coach Kenny Blakeney believes that anything is possible for the young men who step foot on our campus. The program strives to be the greatest combination of on-court success and off-court impact and the last few seasons have been proof of concept. The team won back-to-back MEAC Tournament Championships (and NCAA Tournament appearances) in 2023 & 2024 while featuring multiple All-Conference performers, most notably Blake Harper. Earlier this month, Blake was the first player in the 54-year history of the MEAC Conference to win Rookie of the Year & Player of the Year in the same season. He was also featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated and in The Washington Post. Off the court, the team has been recognized by multiple organizations for their civic engagement ranging from the Annual Women’s Ambassador Conference to the All-In Campus Democracy Challenge. The team already works in service to a variety of social justice initiatives, including mental health, Black maternal mortality, and voter participation. We are honored to be supporting them, in turn.
