Sensate Expands Accessibility through HSA/FSA

Published on Nov 14, 2023

This is great news for the many US employees who save pre-tax dollars for healthcare purchases in an FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account). And for Sensate - it’s a significant market.

HSA/FSA markets have experienced significant growth in recent years.

  • Health savings account assets surpassed $100 billion in January, 2022, (source).
  • The FSA market had an estimated 32.6 million accounts in 2022, up from 31.7 million in 2021. (source).
  • According to an analysis by Money, FSA holders forfeited $7.2 billion in 2019 and 2020 because it was not spent.
  • More than 40% of workers with FSAs forfeited money, on average losing between $339 and $408 annually by not spending all of their FSA money by the deadline. (source

FSA money operates as “use it or lose it.” An individual must spend all saved money within the given savings year.

By creating a way for customers to use their FSA/HSA money as a payment option in purchasing their Sensate, we have reduced the friction for those who use an FSA or HSA as their dedicated savings for healthcare expenses.

That’s a lot of people who could now find greater calm with Sensate!

We’re proud to make Sensate ever more accessible, in pursuit of our goal of touching 10 million lives by 2025.
