I’m thrilled to announce that on March 1 we will launch our pilot with The Climate Reality Project (the “Pilot”).

As you may know, former Vice President and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Al Gore founded The Climate Reality Project in 2006 to help awaken the world to the threat of climate change. It is one of the preeminent organizations focused on climate change education and advocating for climate solutions. Most of our staff have taken their 3-day training and are certified Climate Reality Leaders. I recommend you find out about their next online training.

We’ve been working closely with the Executive Team of The Climate Reality Project for over a year now to ensure the app meets both their needs and the needs of the wider climate activist community. Next week is Phase 1, beginning with a rollout to their national staff, followed by phased rollouts to their larger community of more than 30,000 Climate Reality Leaders in the coming months.

Why is Climate Reality Project interested in working with us? They share our desire to make climate action as easy, effective, and rewarding as possible, and believe the app will help them mobilize and greatly increase the number of “Acts of Leadership” taken by their activist community. For our part, we expect that our partnership with The Climate Reality Project will serve as a template for similar partnerships with other large environmental organizations.

Our pilot with The Climate Reality Project will also help us harden the app for a general public rollout in the app stores in another month or two. While the app is primarily a platform for climate action and rewarding users, the website will have a greater emphasis on e-commerce.
