Our Team

Ineffective products are the worst. Our skin needs natural formulations that do what they say, without sulfates, phthalates, parabens, PFAS, or dyes.
We are on a mission to make the best skin, hair, and bath products for you and our planet focusing on premium, plant-based ingredients, plastic-free sustainability, and consumer education.

Our founder Kelly Perkins started making soap and skincare in the '90s with a simple goal: avoiding toxic ingredients.

She was horrified to learn about chemicals like Triclosan, an antibacterial agent that is a hormone inhibitor and linked to cancer, and that they were being used in everyday products. Finding brands that were truly clean was hard, so she learned to make her own plant-based soap and skincare in her basement.

Kelly began to sell soap at local markets–––inspired by the spirit of singlehood and the power of sisterhood, she named her first pop-up booth Spinster Sisters. People fell in love with her products and from there, Spinster Sisters was born. In 2012, Kelly quit her day job to make skincare full-time and very soon after the brand grew out of the basement operation into a large Microsoapery facility in Golden, Colorado.

In addition to markets & pop-ups, Kelly started selling her line to wholesale accounts focusing on boutiques, gift shops, mercantiles, spas, and more. The brand also grew into their very own Spinster Sisters brick + mortar stores throughout the Denver/Boulder/Golden metro area for a period of brand growth.  As customers grew more conscious of the ingredients they wanted to avoid in their skin care routines, Kelly refined the company's direction focusing today primarily on D2C from spinstersistersco.com and on distributing to aligned retail partners like Whole Foods Market, Kroger, HEB, and more.

Why invest in Spinster Sisters?

Ineffective products are the worst. Our skin needs natural formulations that do what they say, without the junk––no sulfates, phthalates, parabens, PFAS, or dyes. Many conventional skincare products contain chemicals that have been linked to incredibly harmful and life-threatening diseases, including cancer.  Brands have also greenwashed their marketing, leaving consumers confused.

Consumers deserve clean + effective personal care products with recognizable ingredients and shared values of taking care of the planet & working to make a positive social impact.

We consciously craft all of our skin, hair, and bath products at our Colorado-based 100% wind + solar-powered Microsoapery using premium, plant-based ingredients with a focus on sustainability. And great scents! We're proudly certified woman-owned and cruelty-free.

We are on a mission to make the best skin, hair, and bath products for you and our planet. Today, Spinster Sisters is dedicated to reducing plastic consumption, focusing on sustainability and consumer education.

In November 2021, we launched new products focused on reducing plastic consumption in personal care routines. Our Free From innovation is a 12-product line of solid, water-free bars for face, body, and hair in plastic-free packaging.
