I invested with Amelia when she was starting up the brewery and was happy to help her in this next phase of the company. Her industry experience and knowledge as well as her vision for Shippingport is why I initially committed to the project and my experience over the past two years has confirmed all my expectations. I think her and Sue, who is equally talented, are making the most unique and tastiest beer in Louisville. The food menu is simple, high quality, and good value. The atmosphere is inclusive and as diverse as anywhere in town. This is a great place to have a beer and sandwich. The Sunday brunch is low key and enjoyable. She has opened her kitchen on Sunday nights to various chefs around the area and I am always introduced to new and creative offerings. After opening during the pandemic, she has built a steady business and devoted following. Many visitors to the Bourbon trail find their way to Shippingport based on the excellent reviews and downtown location. After developing a solid foundation during a difficult environment, I really think the business is ready to take off with a major housing development coming soon, a few blocks down the street and the start of the next phase of the Louisville waterfront a block away. This funding will provide the platform for the next stage of serious growth.
