Under the leadership of sustainability pioneer Audrey Louise Reynolds, the startup is taking a cult brand with two decades of cultural footprint and goodwill into the mainstream by offering a line of natural and eco-friendly paints and dyes for a mass market. Audrey has consulted to, developed processes, colors, and techniques for companies such as Nike, Pangaia, Roman and Williams.

Problem: why Is Paint Expensive, Wasteful, Toxic, and Smelly?

  • Toxicity. The vast majority of paint contains volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are harmful to human health, and even products that claim to have low or non-VOC levels still contain hazardous ingredients.
  • High Cost. Paint is expensive to store and ship because it is heavy and takes up a lot of shelf space.
  • Environmental Harm. Every year, 336.6 million gallons of interior paint are left as toxic waste.
