OwnLocal’s Year in Review: 2015

Another year come and gone…I think it’s safe to say 2015 was our best year yet, and we’re looking forward to an even bigger and better 2016!

2015 Highlights:

  • We grew revenue by 100% in 2015 and increased our number of publications we work with from 1,600 publishers to 2,400+!
  • International expansion continued – we launched our software in Europe, Canada, and Mexico this year.
  • We acquired website builder Sidengo, a company that was based in Monterrey, Mexico that creates beautiful responsive websites in just minutes.
  • Added some smart people to our leadership team, including a CTO, CRO, and CFO.

By the numbers

  • One OwnLocal ice sculpture
  • Two languages officially spoken by our sales team (English and Spanish)
  • Three countries launched our software (UK, Canada, Mexico)
  • Five international conferences attended
  • Seven webinars hosted 
  • Nine total speaking engagements at conferences across the US and abroad
  • 28 new employees hired in customer support, engineering, and sales
  • 890 new publications launched with OwnLocal
  • $1.2M print ads processed
  • 16.8B impressions on our network

What we are looking forward to in 2016:

  • Expanding our services to include TV, radio, directory listings, and Chamber of Commerce. This is a big push in Q1 for us.
  • Continuing our plan of world domination with more internationalization. Latin America, Europe, and several other regions are on our short list of locations to expand to.
  • Growing our team; we are looking for engineers, customer support reps, marketers, and people to lead the expansion of our new verticals

All of these amazing strides we have made wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our newspaper partners, advisors, investors, and employees. We are so grateful for our success and look forward to starting 2016 off strong!
