Heroes!!

In our last Heroic Series A +1, I introduced you to our biggest investor and new board member: Marty Bicknell.

As you may recall, yesterday I was prepping for a Heroic Zoom chat with some of Marty’s accredited advisors at Mariner.

It was extraordinary.

One of the highlights of that Zoom leads us to the focus of today’s +1.

I’d like to introduce you to my dear friend, Matt McCall.

Matt and I have been friends for over 15 years. After watching Finding Joe, he reached out to the director to see if he could meet “that bald guy” in the movie.

Aka me. 😆

We got connected. Became instant friends.

Matt also happens to be one of the world’s leading venture capitalists—which is one of the reasons why he is THE first guy I call EVERY time I have a strategic biz question.

In fact, he was the very first person I called when I had the idea for Heroic in 2020.

He was also the VERY first investor we had in Heroic. I didn’t send the wire info to our other pre-Seed investors until Matt had invested as it was such a special thing for me to have him as our first investor.

I got tears in my eyes listening to him in yesterday’s Zoom as he described why he not only invested but is spending 2x more time helping us forge excellence with Heroic than he has in any other company.

You can watch the clip of his segment from our Zoom here:

I am excited to introduce you to Matt.

We are incredibly blessed to have his support as we do the hard work to forge an antifragile business and fulfill our Mission.

Sending love and gratitude.

Day 1. All in.

LET’S GO.

P.S. Check out Matt’s full bio here in the Team section.

And, here’s a quick blurb on why he invested:

“I was the first investor in Heroic and I’ve participated in every financing since.

Why?

It is the greatest opportunity I have come across to both meaningfully impact the world and help those dear to me while at the same time supporting a stellar entrepreneurial team that has the potential to build a successful and profitable company.

Usually, these two are at odds with each other.

Not only have I doubled down on this round, but I’ve joined the board and I’m spending significant personal time with the company bringing my experience from 30 years of venture investing across 90+ companies to help bring best in class entrepreneurial practices to Heroic.

To say that I am all in would be an understatement!”

P.P.P.S. Matt also has a tattoo of Areté on his wrist. Check out a video he created for our last round—which he also invested in!
