Meet the Board: Marty Bicknell (+ Heroic Corporate Part II)

Published on Apr 24

Heroes!!

This morning I did my thing.

Today started last night so, of course, last night I dominated my PM protocol featuring an early shutdown complete, digital sunset, last bite four hours before bed, and… a record-setting 11 games of Uno with the kids.

Fun fact: Whenever we play games we always modify the rules. In monopoly we start with a ton more money—which makes it way more fun. 🤓

In Uno, we do a bunch of fun things. The latest? Playing as teams. Last night featured me and Eleanor against Mommy and Emerson and against Emerson with two hands.

It was awesome.

But…

That’s not quite what I want to chat about.

This is…

After my meditation and AM journaling, I focused on my WIN for today—preparing for a noon Zoom with Marty Bicknell and Mariner accredited advisors who may like to invest in our Series A.

I prepped for my call the same way I prep for my 101 classes—capturing the Top 10 Big Ideas I think are most important to consider for someone thinking about investing in Heroic.

You can check out my notes here

But…

I don’t want to focus on the 10 Ideas. I want to chat about the “0” idea.

And I want to use this as an opportunity to introduce you to one of our new Heroic board members: Marty Bicknell.

The “0” idea was “THANK YOU, MARTY.”

I got tears in my eyes typing that.

I want you to know that we, as a community of heroes committed to changing the world, are VERY (VERY VERY!!) blessed to have Marty and his support.

In addition to doubling his $1M investment in our Series A, Marty will also be joining our board.

Marty runs one of the largest wealth advisory companies in the country/world. His bio is, as you would expect, impressive. Check it out below and download this PDF for the full board bios.

But…

Who he is as a human is, in my opinion, 10x more impressive.

So…

I think the best way for you to meet Marty is to check out this conversation I had with him at his recent annual National Advisor Meeting.

I repeat…

Thank you, Marty. 🙏

That’s all I’ve got for now.

Time to get back to my prep then a workout.

Feeling blessed.

And I’m also feeling fiercely committed to making you proud to be a part of our community as we take the next steps in fulfilling our Mission together.

With wisdom, discipline, love, and courage, I say…

Heroes unite.

Day 1. All in.

Let’s go.

P.S. Here’s Marty on why he invested in Heroic:

“In 2019, I discovered Brian and Heroic, which profoundly impacted my life. The Heroic content offers a wealth of benefits. I made my initial investment in Heroic based on the positive impact it had on myself and numerous colleagues. Since then, I have implemented Heroic across my entire organization of 1,700 associates. I have received numerous testimonials detailing the transformative effects of Heroic on individuals at Mariner. As I delve deeper into the business model and explore opportunities in Education, Military, Sports, and Corporate, my enthusiasm for Heroic as an investment grows. I have decided to reinvest in Heroic and join its board. While there are numerous investment opportunities, there are fewer that have the potential to make a global impact. Heroic provides us with this unique opportunity. The exceptional work accomplished by Brian, Alexandra, Michael, and the entire team, coupled with their vision for the future and their aspirations for Heroic’s accomplishments, is the reason behind my renewed investment.”

Marty Bicknell

CEO & President at Mariner

These comments reflect my opinion based on my personal experience with Heroic. This is not intended to be a solicitation to invest in Heroic and no compensation was received from Heroic for this testimonial. This does however present a conflict of interest due to my client relationship and investment with Heroic.

P.P.S. I’ll introduce you to another dear friend and huge Heroic supporter who has also joined our board in a future email called: Meet the Board: Matt McCall

P.P.P.S. I also spent time journaling about the Heroic Quests I’ll be producing soon. Fired up about that and will share more on how that will all work in a future email as well.

P.P.P.P.S. As promised, here’s Marty’s bio
