ARPA-E Tech Summit!

Published on Mar 22

As many of you know, our team has been in Washington, D.C. this week attending the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit—an annual event that brings together some of the brightest minds and boldest technologies shaping the future of energy and mobility.

The summit was an incredible opportunity to connect with fellow innovators, policy leaders, investors, and engineers from across the country working toward transformative solutions in sustainability, energy infrastructure, and next-generation transportation.

We’re thrilled to share some of the highlights from our experience and some exciting news from our technology demo. One of the biggest moments for our team was the live demonstration of our subscale prototype, which successfully performed dynamic self-balancing.

This marks a major technical achievement and underscores the tremendous progress our engineering and controls teams have made over the past several months. Watching the prototype balance in real-time—surrounded by curious onlookers and enthusiastic feedback—was a proud and energizing experience for all of us.

The session allowed us to demonstrate how our core control algorithms allow us to leverage CMGs to create a “gravity-defying”  moment. We’ve come away from the summit feeling more inspired, more connected, and even more energized for the road ahead.

As our team travels back from Washington DC, we’re excited to be able to share even more details, including some videos of our demo, with you next week.

Stay tuned for more soon!

Congratulations
Someone say tech? I daydream about the C-1 often, believing that things I want would cost too much, but you guys piqued my interest with the potential of butterfly doors, although I most appreciate rear-hinged doors. Seeing that water bottle on a wooden tray sent me on a tizzy, wondering if suspension springs/dampers can be electrodynamic, generating some energy on rough / undulating roads, but more importantly, control suspension response in a fashion to reduce the worst of vehicle pitching, similarly to a Citroën 2CV.
