VirZOOM 2023 Summary Review

Hi Everyone,

2023 was a year of major milestones for VirZOOM.

  • We received and executed a grant on-time and on-budget to develop a Meta Quest 3 launch title: VZfit 3.0: Ring Racer. Ring Racer is the world’s first MR Exercise Game to use our patented and patent pending motion controls, and includes a novel use of the Quest 3’s high-res MR capabilities. Since launching VZfit 3.0 on Nov. 15, Installs are up 102% and the number of Active Monthly Users has grown by 182%.

  • Total Quest store revenue from VZfit sales for the year was up modestly year-over-year, as expected ahead of the launch of the Quest 3 in October. Over the course of 2023, Meta saw VR revenues decline by 48% as users drifted away from the aging $299 Quest 2 platform, first launched in 2020. That all changed in Q4 2023 when Quest 3 at $500 and the Quest 2 discounted to $250 topped the list of popular holiday gift products. The Quest 2 reportedly outsold Xbox. We saw the growth in our numbers. The chart below shows the relative trend in VR platforms used by VZfit users, with the first increase coming from Quest 3 launch and the spike occurring over the final week of December, a 5x increase, trough to peak.

  • We launched our exciting Google Earth for VR app FLY on Dec. 25. What began as an experimental cooperative project with Google in 2018 is now an app you can buy for $9.99 on the Meta Quest App Lab store.

Previously available on PC-based VR platforms as Google’s own Google Earth VR, FLY brings 38 million square miles of 3D earth image to the Meta Quest, for exploration and for the sheer joy of flying anywhere, from the ground up into space, using only your body movement for flight control. Since launching FLY less than two weeks ago, without marketing or advertising promotion FLY is already gaining traction, with hundreds of copies sold. Soon we’ll release an update to FLY that includes a dozen new features and improvements to make it even more appealing.

Many thanks to Wefunder investors who helped make these milestone achievements possible.

We have ambitious plans for 2024 and we’re considering a new crowdfunding campaign to fund them. With marketing and promotion to reach more of the millions of Quest users that are out there, FLY has the potential to generate significant revenue.

To gauge interest, we are running a testing the waters (TTW) campaign.

This is your chance to invest again in VirZOOM’s future. To learn more about our TTW campaign and to sign up for updates, please visit our website here

This all looks good. Is there a prospect that investors will see a return on their investment?
Well that's certainly our goal! The typical time it takes a company to achieve an exit used to be 5 or 6 years. For the past decade or so that's increased to 8 - 10 years. It depends a lot on how the market develops. Our market has been a bit slow to develop. 2024 is looking like the year that we'll see accelerated growth, with Apple entering the market next month and Samsung and Sony later in the year. That will not only increase the number of platforms for our content but it will expand exit opportunities as well.
Great advancement thanks to the hard work of a great VR team😋
Thanks, Paul!
Awesome updates! Please keep the momentum.
Onward!
Awesome VR/MR engagements!
Thanks, Tori!
I hope I’m wrong but it looks and feels like VirZOOM is abandoning the cycling aspect of their software. Very disappointing.
Hi Simon. Great question. I just finished a head-to-head Tank battle on a bike, my personal favorite among VirZOOM exercise games. We plan to always support cycling and bikes but it's important that we expand beyond that, which is why we developed a standing-mode version of our patented motion controls. Ring Racer is our first exercise game to use them. The VR/MR market is still relatively small, and the market composed of users with headsets and also bikes is even smaller, by our estimates 2% to 4% of the total. While bikes are great as exercise game controllers, it's very much in the interests of our investors for us bring our unique form of exercise to every headset owner.
I really love to see how the app is developing and to see the great progress that keeps on going. It’s a wonderful way to exercise and I’m glad that I invested..
Is there a way to have updates emailed to investors?

I missed the last C.F. round. Some start-ups, once the C.F. round closes, allow direct investing through their site portal. Do you offer the same opportunity? Thanks, CNF
