Helle everyone -
Here's the latest update from our Team Joule Case.
Our whole team has a significant milestone coming up next week at Disaster Expo California. At this show, we're boldly staking our claim that Joule Case can fill a significant gap in how communities fight and recover from disasters. Emergency response is a natural fit for Joule Case products and a key strategic growth market moving forward. Especially with the devastating recent events in Hawaii, Washington, and Florida, utilities and responders are scrambling to fill in the power gaps they are experiencing—and we have a solution that can help.

Here are a few specific reasons why we’re so excited about next week:
- We are publicly unveiling the Olympus Power Platform for the very first time
- This product is a finalist for the Most Innovative Technology at this year’s Expo
- Co-founder Alex Livingston will be presenting Boxed in by a Bad Energy Choice? where he’ll be discussing the limitations of portable power and why modularity equals flexibility, distinct power and energy architectures are critical, and how adaptable energy storage can address the crisis response of today and empower at-risk communities tomorrow.
Attendance is FREE, so if you are in the Los Angeles area next week and want to stop by to meet the Joule Case team or to see Olympus for yourself, click HERE TO REGISTER.
If you have any connections to the emergency response sector that you'd be willing to introduce, please e-mail me (jesseb@joulecase.com).
Joule Case has been in the New York City news lately. Lincoln Restler of the New York City Council recently introduced a climate bill that would prohibit ice cream trucks from using generators. Here is a great article that frames up the potential ban and singles out Joule Case as the solution.
Just to give you an idea, one of the larger NYC ice cream vendors, Mr Softee, has over 600 ice cream trucks alone and there are over 10,000 street vendors in the greater NYC area.

In another example of Joule Case powering unique and novel applications with batteries, late last week, we had an inbound call from Super Star Mobile Grooming in Miami. They own and operate a fleet of 25 mobile dog grooming trucks. All of these trucks are using diesel generators for grooming operations. The owners reached out to our sales team with the need to eliminate the diesel generator in the truck due to the generator noise stressing their customers and the pets getting groomed.
They shared, “The generators are just a general pain in the ass.” Our sales team used the Joule Case customer-facing software platform and database of energy load profiles to quickly configure the lowest cost system with the quickest ROI from our off-the-shelf Joule Case products. The configured system delivered a 13-month ROI compared to diesel generators. They were blown away by the opportunity to get a silent green power solution with such a rapid ROI.
They purchased systems for two vehicles on the spot for a total price of $42K and they plan on converting their remaining 23 trucks to Joule Case power solutions.
Check out a quick blog post we wrote about the opportunity:
Grooming on the Go: The Benefits of Battery Power
As we just passed the anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act, it’s also a good reminder that public investment in clean energy is at an all-time high. The IRA and other legislation are outlined in the following blog post:
Mobile business, enterprise, and public utility customers are all benefiting from these incentives and are key to accelerating the adoption of Joule Case technologies.
