Shoppi and Shoppi Pay have now officially asserted earlier common law rights in the United States—predating the registration of Shopify’s ‘Shop Pay’ trademark, which is currently under cancellation proceedings.

Our brand was in commercial use well before Shopify’s registration of Shop Pay, and we’ve taken the necessary steps to secure and document those rights under U.S. common law, which recognizes first use in commerce as the foundation of trademark ownership.

This development strengthens our legal position and reinforces the unique identity of the Shoppi brand in the fintech and commerce space.
