Feb 9, 2019 - Recognizing that Crowdfunding contributes more than just cash to
the balance sheet, but also a group of excited and energized owners who want to contribute even more to the success of our company, we launched the "Perfect Gift" campaign last holiday season. It was a historic event - for us. For the first time we
would make an attempt to directly harness the power of our ownership model in pursuit of business goals and objectives which would benefit us all.
The idea behind the campaign was simple enough. Our owners / investors (over 1,000
strong) have family members, friends, business associates, etc. they planned on buying gifts for. They had budgeted a certain amount of money to spend on those gifts. Spending some or all of that budgeted money on James FC Hyde Sorgho Whiskey would have the beneficial effects of: 1) boosting product sales; 2) expanding our
distribution channel; and 3) creating more brand awareness and introducing our "whiskey like no other" to a bunch of new potential owners / brand advocates / consumers.
The success of the campaign was overwhelming. We crashed the server of our most aggressive on line seller, Bourbon, Scotch and Beer of Lakewood NJ. We generated so
many orders from our owners in Texas, all of which we strategically funneled through Total Wine stores as special case orders, that we're now negotiating with Total Wine for state wide distribution in Texas. We'll keep you posted on our progress.
Hoping to repeat the success of our "Perfect Gift" campaign, we're now launching the
"Just Ask For It" campaign. Again the idea behind the campaign is simple. This time, we're asking our whiskey loving owners, to put on their consumer hat, and go into their favorite liquor store, bar or restaurant and "ask for" James FC Hyde Sorgho Whiskey by name. That's it. Why are we asking our owners to "Just ask for it"? Because when consumers "ask for it", it triggers a virtuous cycle.
While the spirits industry is organized around a 3 tier distribution system: 1)
producers like us who sell to; 2) state licensed distributors like Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits who in turn sell to; 3) on and off premise retail outlets (restaurants & bars, and liquor stores like Total Wine); all three are responsive to the same thing! Consumer demand. When consumers are "asking for" James FC Hyde Sorgho Whiskey, retailers will want to stock it. When retailers want to stock it, distributors will want to inventory it. And when distributors want to inventory James FC Hyde Sorgho Whiskey, they'll place orders with us. Driving and enhancing case volume, sales growth and consumer awareness - foundational priorities for all of us.
The way we see it, when all is said and done, the value of our James FC Hyde Sorgho Whiskey brand, is a function of how much consumer demand and awareness we can
drive into our brand. And we believe our "Just Ask For It" campaign is a low cost, low risk with high potential return initiative that engages our owners and affords them an opportunity to drive the value of their investment.
We want to thank all of our owners / investors that have played, and will continue to play such an important role in helping make james FC Hyde Sorgho Whiskey an successful national brand. Our "Just Ask For It" campaign is just the latest example that you are an important strategic part of the team.
