The Story of Unividoc

Even though this story started about 5 years ago; Unividoc was founded in July 2018 with the vision of becoming the world's largest network of Spanish speaking doctors. It' has been for sure a long, crazy journey, and we've only just begun since we were forced to launch our platform to help our community due to the coronavirus.

First, our negative experience with healthcare!

Back in 2015, Our founder and CEO got an infection in his stomach and he had to seek medical attention. Unfortunately, due to his undocumented status at the time, he was denied healthcare services.  Even though, denying care to someone sick is against the law; it happened to him and continues to happen to millions of Hispanics around the country.

After this negative experience, He discovered Hispanics also avoid care due to language barriers, cultural disconnection, and even fear due to their immigration status. So he decided to put into motion a universal telemedicine marketplace.

Don't take our word for it, click on the links and see it yourself.

1Immigrants fear doctor visits could leave them vulnerable to deportation.

2Sick and Afraid, Some Immigrants Forgo Medical Care.

3Immigrants Afraid to Seek Medical Care for Coronavirus.

4COVID-19 has made immigrants fear seeking care.

5Why Many Latinos Dread Going to the Doctor due to cultural barriers.

6Low-income immigrants are afraid to seek health care amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

So... What's the real problem?

The current healthcare system in the United States isn't Hispanic friendly and the disparity for our Spanish speaking community has become a growing issue and will continue to be for years to come, especially since Hispanics are projected to comprise almost 29 percent of the U.S. population by 2050.

Here are the main (Four) concerns Hispanics go through at a moment of sickness.

But... The problem gets even worse!

Unfortunately, due to the problems explained above. Hispanics normally don't get treatment very often, which makes their health deteriorate by developing other severe health conditions that as a consequence change their lives in a negative way forever.

Conditions Hispanics develop as a consequence.

Unividoc changed all these!

We are a single-payer Telemedicine marketplace 100% in Spanish that allows Hispanics documented and undocumented consult doctors all over the world meeting linguistic and cultural needs.

The mission...

To organize Spanish speaking doctors in one place and make them accessible and affordable to Hispanics everywhere meeting cultural and linguistic needs.

The vision...

To be the world's largest network of Spanish speaking doctors for Hispanics to have peace of mind at a moment of sickness.

Advantages of Unividoc!

Unividoc it's more than just a telemedicine marketplace. We bring extra features that make us the best health-tech solution on the market helping our Hispanic community worldwide.

The market we are tackling!

In reality, when it comes to owning a smartphone, going online from a mobile device or just using technology, Hispanics are just connected as other communities in America.

However, when it comes to health care they haven't been exposed to the right tools to enable them to have better access suitable for them. Further, giving us an open window to be innovators in this particular micro-niche.

Go to market strategy & Revenue model

When it comes to penetrating this specific micro-niche, we already know the majority of the Latino population in the United States live in five states; “New York, California, Texas, Florida and Illinois”. Therefore, our plan for deployment is to go where they normally spend most of their time and engage them in the following ways.

The journey so far (2019)

During this particular year, we were able to accomplish multiple things that will allow Unividoc to move further than anybody thinking about getting into the business of proving peace of mind to Hispanics at a moment of sickness through telemedicine.

Let's make this work!

The disparity in healthcare for the Hispanic population is not a secret, especially with the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, accessing healthcare in the United States serves as a microcosm of how the system fails this underserved community.

When no accommodation is made to address cultural or language differences faced by Hispanics seeking health services in most U.S. facilities, quality of the typical experience and resultant health outcomes are generally sub-optimal.

Fortunately, we've been working for almost two years creating innovative solutions for this growing population to access healthcare. Ultimately, Unividoc offers technology solutions to help the underserved access culturally and medically relevant care suitable for their particular needs.

Sincerely,

The Unividoc team

Thank you
