Invest in Tropical Hockey League: A professional roller hockey league with community-owned teams

Founder

Blake grew up in Tallahassee playing roller hockey. Through hard work and grit he played pro ice hockey despite a torn ACL. He has brought that same effort level towards planning and starting the league. He and his wife just had a baby in December.

The THL came about because we put together two distinct thoughts: 1. Roller hockey is a beautiful game with extremely talented players, but no professional league. 2. Sports teams should be owned by their fans, who collectively have more to gain or lose from their team than a small group of investors.

John YoheCo-Founder

A roller hockey lifer, John has played, coached, and officiated roller hockey for years. In 2018 he led Florida State University to the NCRHA national championships, and he still regularly plays in competitive tournaments around the country.

Jason WattsCo-Founder

A native of Crestwood, Kentucky, Jason was a bruising defenseman who loved to carry the puck end to end in his junior and college days. He recently got engaged to his college sweetheart.

Nick SchroederCo-Founder

A banker by day, Nick was instrumental in planning out the financial aspects of the Tropical Hockey League. He worked as a combination of player and manager for his college hockey team, and loves to give back to the community.

Eleni DemestihasConsultant

Eleni brings a wealth of knowledge about contracts, fan-owned teams, and startup leagues and was instrumental in the development of the THL. She has since stopped consulting with the THL to become an agent for professional women's hockey players.

Steph DriverCo-Commissioner

Steph has years of experience in management, recruiting, marketing, and operations in both business and hockey media. She brings energy, creativity, and determination to the position, and never backs down from a challenge.

Brian CersosimoCo-Commissioner

Brian has decades of experience owning, managing, and coaching in both ice and roller hockey. His friendly demeanor and creativity lend themselves to fun marketing strategies to get fans to games.

Samantha MaddenCo-Commissioner

Samantha comes to the THL from basketball, where she has assisted NBA teams in their youth development programs and managed at the college level. She works as a loan processor and has been an event planner for professional sporting events.

Austin Harrison

General Manager, Tallahassee Tiger Sharks

Austin has extensive experience scouting and a degree in sports management. He blends a data-driven and a personal approach.

Ian KennedyDisciplinary Board Member

Ian is a sports journalist who does not shy away from difficult stories. He is known not only for his excellent writing, but also for his even-handed, no-nonsense approach that does not let anyone off easy.

Katie Gardner

Disciplinary Board Member

Katie previously worked for the Premier Hockey Federation, the top women's ice hockey league n the world. While her main talents are for marketing, she works tirelessly at everything she does and she will make the THL a safer, more inclusive place.

Tunisha Singleton

Disciplinary Board Member

Dr Tunisha Singleton is a sports and media consultant with an expertise in fandom, content, creative strategy and community impact. With a PhD in Media Psychology, Singleton works to improve leadership, critical thinking and innovation within hockey.
