The outdoor blanket that works as a tarp.

After 15 years building a nationally recognized outdoor lifestyle brand, Tarpestry is finally ready to scale into retail — and we're inviting our community to invest.

BY THE NUMBERS

⬥ 15 years in business

⬥ $200,000+ peak annual revenue

⬥ 29,000 community members across email, Facebook & Instagram

⬥ 58% reduction in unit cost with new manufacturing partner

SUMMARY

People who live outdoors — at festivals, campsites, and parks — have always had to choose between beautiful and functional. Most blankets aren't waterproof. Most tarps aren't beautiful. Tarpestry ends that choice.

We make weather-resistant picnic blankets that function as tarps. Waterproof, durable, and designed with original artwork that people are proud to bring anywhere. After 15 years of selling at festivals and online, we've built a loyal community featured in Forbes, the Today Show, Outside Magazine, Men's Journal, Condé Nast Traveler, The Manual, Gear Junkie, and more.

Now, a new overseas manufacturing partnership drops our landed unit cost to $46.07 (including freight and tariffs). For the first time in our history, we can hit the price points that retail stores require. We're raising between $185,000 and $425,000 to fund two manufacturing orders, a full retail launch, and the marketing engine to scale.

OUR STORY

Tarpestry was born in Denver, Colorado in 2011. Co-founders Carrie and Ted had a simple idea: make something beautiful enough to hang on a wall and tough enough to sit on at a festival. The first Tarpestry was hand-sewn. The first festival was a leap of faith.

It worked. Customers came back. Then they brought their friends. Word spread at festivals, campgrounds, and outdoor gatherings across the country. In 2016 we relocated to the mountains of western North Carolina, where we've continued building the brand.

Over 15 years we've sold at hundreds of festivals and events, developed original designs with artists we believe in, and earned national press coverage on the strength of the product. We have 7,000 email subscribers, 16,000 Facebook followers, and 6,000 Instagram followers who keep coming back because nothing else does what we do.

WHY NOW

The single thing that kept Tarpestry out of retail for 15 years was unit cost. At $100 per unit we could not hit the wholesale price points that stores require while maintaining any meaningful margin.

That has changed.

A new overseas manufacturing partnership brings our landed unit cost to $46.07 — including manufacturing, freight, and import tariffs. At that cost, we can wholesale to retailers at $75 and sell direct at $150, achieving a blended gross margin of approximately 60%.

For the first time in 15 years, the math works for retail. We have the brand, the audience, and the product. Now we have the economics.

Combined with $10,000 per month in ongoing digital advertising and our existing community of 29,000, we have a clear path to significantly higher revenue within 12–18 months of this raise closing.

THE OPPORTUNITY

✦ PROVEN PRODUCT — 15 years of festival and online sales. Customers find us, love us, and come back. The product works and the market has proven it.

✦ NATIONAL PRESS — Featured in Forbes, Today Show, Outside Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler, Men's Journal, The Manual, and Gear Junkie.

✦ MANUFACTURING UNLOCK — Landed unit cost drops from $100 to $46.07. Wholesale pricing becomes viable. Retail entry — impossible for 15 years — is now within reach.

✦ EXISTING COMMUNITY — 7,000 email subscribers, 16,000 Facebook followers, and 6,000 Instagram followers who already know and trust the brand.

✦ CUSTOM & B2B MARKET — Bands and festivals commission original Tarpestry designs for merchandise and fan experiences. Past partners include Widespread Panic, The Infamous Stringdusters, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, WinterWonderGrass, Rooster Walk Festival, and Baygrass Music Festival. A growing revenue channel with strong margins and zero advertising cost.

THE ASK

We are raising between $185,000 (minimum) and $425,000 (maximum) in exchange for 15–34% equity in Tarpestry, based on a $1,200,000 valuation.

Use of funds:

⬥ Manufacturing — 2 orders: $188,200

⬥ Import tariffs (both orders): $18,500

⬥ Ad spend (6 months): $60,000

⬥ Retail launch & marketing: $52,000

⬥ Shopify, tech & distributor: $22,100

⬥ Working capital (7 months): $40,000

⬥ Wefunder platform fee: $30,800

Total: $412,600

Hit $185,000 and we launch our first order. Every dollar beyond accelerates our growth into retail.

Investments are flexible in size. We welcome conversations with anyone interested in being part of this chapter.
