Pitch

Quick Pitch: Tailgater is an event-planning and discovery platform for sports fans. Users can plan their tailgates, invite friends, assi gn tasks, follow the best tailgates, and share their events over social media.

Mobile: Our mobile app allows fans to tag their location, find nearby friends, discover and navigate to tailgates, and explore venues on gameday.

Model: Tailgater is free for the user to sign up. Future revenue models may include partnering with tailgating related brands to hook our users up with products, deals, and specials, facilitating the hassle free buying and selling of event tickets, and offering premium accounts for vendors at weekend venues to connect to fans.

Founders: Dudes with day jobs, bootstrapping like it’s their jobs.

Joseph Thompson (Co-founder/CEO/Lead Developer) – Residing inSavannah, GA, he initially got his start in IT by working for an e-payment solutions provider during the first dotcom boom. In more recent years, Joe has worked as a software entrepreneur and payment systems consultant, and excited about the opportunities presented by Tailgater.

Zach Jex (Co-founder & Advisor) – Zach’s passion for sports and tailgating originated when he lived in Oxford, Mississippi for nin e years during undergrad and law school. He was a hardcore tailgater but always found it hard to coordinate tailgate planning or find where his friends were on a crowded Saturday, so he decided to build something to solve those problems. He is an attorney by trade and currently runs his own practice in Natchez, Mississippi.

Why we're relevant:
We actually facilitate real life interaction in a mark et that is age-old, durable, and thriving (sports and tailgating). We solve the pain points of promoting tailgating events (dedicated fans put a lot into them), finding friends at crowded venues, and finding cool things to do while on the road. Sports/tailgating fans are traditionally young, affluent, consumerist, an d brand aware, the perfect market for advertisers, partners, and vendors.
