How much does a window with this technology cost compared to a standard window in an office building context?

Hi Jesse: Thanks for your question. ClearPower is an add-on to a standard insulated glass window. Installed, standard IGUs typically go for $50 to $80 per square foot. ClearPower will add another $20 to $25 to that cost. As of right now, the 30% Federal Investment Tax Credit would pay for most if not all of the additional cost, but if the Senate follows recent legislation that just passed the House, that will go away.

Hi Eric – Lots of questions! Let me see how I can do… We received a Series A venture round in late 2007 to develop a unique solar module that used optics to reduce the amount of silicon needed. Eric - More good questions. You're absolutely right, our target market is large, commercial windows as that minimizes the balance-of-system wiring costs. We keep the voltage in the windows very low and then, like many residential solar installations, use commercial micro-inverters to change the low-voltage DC to higher voltage AC.
