Railway Energy

480,000 Kilowatt hours a year are produced here at the Nelliston Farm. All power is purchased by the Fort Plain School District.

We started in late 2008 after an argument with the utility in regards to deliver fees and the fact that they were rising on average $20 per month. Founder originally studied wind energy then evolved to geo-thermal and ultimately photovoltaics (Solar Power).   

2012 Founder, Steven Erby Invited to address the United States Congress about the positive effects of Tax Incentives for Solar

In 2014 regulation changed that allows us to perform more like a Utility and deliver power (credits) from remote Farms.

(PIC)This farm powers the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown Albany. It was one of the first three farms we built simultaneously. The Farm is located about an hour drive from the Hotel located in Albany NY. 

2015 We launched a campaign to educated business and Municipalities on the benefits of Solar.

  • We have at this time over 400 Solar Farms that are working 365 days a year. Projects built before 2015 are for the most part located on the customers property and are typically referred to as Behind The Meter or (BTM). Pic above was installed in 2010 and is BTM. 
Farm Located just outside Derby, NY on lake Erie. Powers Bank Located over 50 miles away.

Farms that generate power for consumption elsewhere is referred to as Remote Net Metering. (RNM)

City of Amsterdam-Over 726,000 kilo watt hours a year are generated at this farm.

Schenectady NY Burdeck Street Farm-over 725,000 kilo watt hours annually. Power is consumed by Schenectady County Office Buildings.
Erin NY Over 250,000 kilo watt hours a year generated here for consumption by Shop-Rite Super Markets.
Hillside Ave Solar Farm- Over 750,000 kilo watt hours generated here annually. The Power is consumed by the Schenectady County Jail.
Hoosick Falls Landfill Solar Farm. Over 745,000 Kilo watt hours are produced here annually for the benefit of the Village Of Hoosick Falls, NY.
Marion School District, RNM located on District Property. Over 240,000 kilo watt hours generated annually.
Moravia, NY - Over 240,000 kilo watt hours are generated here annually for the benefit of Key Bank
Orange, NY This Solar Farm generates over 600,000 kilo watt hours annually for the benefit of Price Rite Supermarkets.
Prattsburgh, NY Solar Farm. Over 240,000 kilo watt hours a year generated at this farm.
Salam, NY Solar Farm. Annual production is over 480,000 kilowatt hours. All power is directed to local KeyBank.
Smithville, NY Solar Farm over 490,000 kilo watt hours per year are generated here. The production here is split between KeyBank and Shop-Rite.
Hetcheltown Road Solar Farm. Over 725,000 kilo watt hours a year are generated on the farm all consumed by the Schenectady County Nursing Home.
Hundreds of systems across NY State are located on leased roofs with the power being consumed remotely. RNM  
Residential installs are of vital part of the company strategy going forward. With both on site installs and Community Solar.

We have installed over a thousand solar systems from Yonkers to Kansas City 

When the company began installing solar systems in 2011, the costs of the company were covered by the cash received from Federal (NREL/1603) and New York State (NYSERDA) grants designed to spur investment in the solar industry. Because of these grants, the company was able to focus on building commercial solar assets which provided a 20 year stream of revenue through power purchase agreements (PPA).

The Company has built an amazing foundation with all the resources that were available. Every installer was trained to build each system as if it was on their own home. Quality has, and will always be our  number one focus.
