There are a few sources on this but one I find easy to understand is that before industrial whaling, sperm whale populations were an order of magnitude higher (Baker & Clapham 2002) and the reduction in sperm whale numbers owing to whaling has resulted in an extra 2 106 tonnes of carbon remaining in the atmosphere annually (figure 1). Whenever Positive Polar LLC sells Preferred Units (an Equity Financing) or sells $2.5M+ of converting securities (a SAFE Financing), whichever is sooner, the SAFE will convert into equity. When the SAFE converts, it will convert into equity at a $10M valuation (the Valuation Cap) or at the valuation of the Equity Financing, whichever is better for the investor.

Just as shown in the deck, the company will initially generate returns through programs implemented onboard partner cruise lines, and later through operations with our own ship. Once the technology is developed, the company will generate revenue from environmental credits and from licensing the technology to other cruise lines and shipping companies.
