Paleo Car Care is a forward-thinking tech company bridging the gap between skilled technicians and consumers, eliminating unnecessary intermediaries that have marred the industry. Our mission is to fix the $650 billion global automotive service sector. We empower customers with mobile-first, cost-effective, and convenient car care, while technicians regain control over their work, enjoying increased earnings without the constraints of traditional employment.  

Problem

The car service industry has garnered widespread dissatisfaction, reflected by a dismal Net Promoter Score (NPS) of -13. This long-standing sector grapples with a multitude of issues that affect both customers and technicians alike. This includes:

  • Obscure Pricing: Widespread issues of inconsistent, biased, and inflated pricing plague the industry. Repair time estimates are often based on labor guides that don't align with actual labor times, further compounded by unnecessary repairs using subpar or counterfeit parts to inflate profits.
  • Imbalanced Incentives: Customers are charged between $100 to $215 per hour, while the technicians, who shoulder the majority of the workload, earn a meager $18 to $40 per hour. More than 80% of the profit remains in the hands of intermediaries.
  • Industry-Wide Corruption: Customers are left with little choice but to return to auto repair shops and dealerships they may not prefer. A quota-driven culture incentivizes falsification of repair and maintenance needs, resulting in deeply ingrained customer dissatisfaction within the industry.
  • Customer/Technician Divide: Predatory pricing and incentive practices employed by auto repair shops hinder direct communication between technicians and customers. This lack of interaction leads technicians to disengage from their customers, which, in turn, erodes their sense of ownership and responsibility for delivering the highest quality work.

A superior solution was necessary, so we took the initiative to build it.

Paleo takes care of all the logistics, allowing technicians to focus on repairing cars and delivering exceptional value to our customers. We offer the following services:

  • On Demand 24/7 access to “best in class” technicians. 
  • Efficiently link customers with technicians by considering factors such as location, prior ratings, and vehicle make specialization.
  • Customers receive a quote tailored to their specific diagnosis and preferences.
  • Convenient on demand fuel delivery, complete with a complimentary multi-point inspection. 
  • 24/7 lifts on demand for technicians. 
  • Parts on demand. Direct sale of replacement auto parts to customers through our mobile platform. Immediate availability made possible via our fulfillment agreement with XLParts, a subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation. 

There are 160,000 independent auto shops in the USA. The TAM is currently $63 billion and is poised to grow to $75 billion by 2026.

Globally, the TAM is $650 billion and is poised to grow to $871 billion by 2026.

We expect to expand to our first initial ten cities in the southern United States before going nationwide.
