The Pain

We started in 2017 after I had got back from summer vacation to a flooded bathroom. I needed to get someone in immediately, but more importantly, someone I could trust. Someone that my friends would recommend or have used. That was not easy. It was painful to accomplish both. I thought there was a solution, but I couldn't find one easy to use solution. I then went on a quest to solve this problem. I called a friend, got him in my office, and we started whiteboarding the initial concept.  It has been a long crazy and demanding journey, but we've only begun.

Below was the initial concept on my whiteboard in my home office. I love whiteboarding and brainstorming.

Early Development

After the initial concept and the whiteboarding, as we progressed the concept evolved and got even more robust and comprehensive. We now had a name, developed a logo and our main tag line, One App, One Search, Onekliq.

One year later.....

After a full year of development and iterations, we now had an MVP and we wanted to engage with Service Providers and Service Requestors to validate the need. We hosted a series of meetings in hotels, where we invited people through Eventbrite and something amazing happened during these meetings. The interest was high, and people would sign up to use the platform. We then saw even Service Requestors submit jobs on the platform. This was exciting for us, as it gave us the momentum to go back and add to our MVP solution.

Everyone we met with wanted to know how they could be part of this, and from that meeting, we started seeing people signing up onto our platform organically with no marketing, but the platform was not ready as there were still many bugs. We had to pull it off the market and continue to build and add other features we felt were important before we launched in BETA.
