Pitch

Play the Lost Abroad Café beta on Steam, Android, or iOS Testflight and learn Mandarin Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, or German (with more to come)!

Everyone's heard that Millennials and Gen-Z "crave experiences", and Lost Abroad's games perfectly tap into this generational shift.

What this means is they don’t necessarily just want translation help – they can already use their phones to instantly translate anything they want – but they want the FEELING of authentically communicating in another language. They deeply fear being perceived as another “ignorant American”, and they crave the feeling of being “not just a tourist, but a traveler”: someone that can go abroad and engage with a new culture as a participant.

Our games, being in the life sim genre, provide this through the gameplay itself, and also better prepares players to go to another country and use everything they’ve learned. That will keep them coming back and also recommend it to others.

In addition to our founders, we have brought on Bradley Chee as a product intern to conduct player deep dives and design features to solve their biggest problems and needs. Phoebe Shalloway and @JayCode are our experienced front-end game developers.
