HEVO was founded in 2011 by CEO Jeremy McCool with the mission to eliminate global reliance on fossil fuels by accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles. Following a 15-month tour in Baghdad as a U.S. Army Infantry Platoon Leader, Jeremy began his MPA in urban policy at Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) with a focus in sustainability. While researching electric vehicle charging infrastructure as a graduate student, it quickly became clear to Jeremy that the EV industry was in need of a seamless, simple and safe charging experience. Jeremy launched HEVO in his final semester to develop and commercialize wireless EV charging products. Since launching HEVO, the company has completed projects with some of the largest automakers and energy companies in the world while developing a cost competitive, UL-SAE certified, manufacturable and highly efficient wireless EV charging hardware and software as an end-to-end solution. In 2021, HEVO become the first company in the world to offer commercial-ready wireless EV charging products.
