From Kindness in a Can to a Wellness Revolution!


Pandemic Punch and Pivot

Hunniwater was poised for success and seeing month over month sales increases. Retail partners included Safeway, Kroger, Whole Foods and many more.

We were readying for Costco’s Spring Roadshow when we received an ominous email stating, ‘All product introductions were being cancelled until further notice’. Two weeks later, the first US Covid-19 case was in the news. 

With 99% of our products in retail/grocery and the Covid shut down imminent, we were forced to rethink our business’ health and personal wellness too. 

We began donating cans of kindness to healthcare workers who fought on the front lines to keep our communities safe. We then pivoted sales and marketing priorities to pursue the most immediate and long-term revenue opportunities. 

We focused exclusively on e-commerce and direct home delivery. This revived our business and ultimately led to the development of HunniCo Wellness and our Hunnisport Sport Division. We took the pandemic’s biggest punch and got back up!

We’ve transitioned from ‘Pandemic Survivor’ mode into an omni-channel growth model. We sell Direct-to-Consumer, through Amazon, retail, grocery and through wholesale via local and national distributors. Products can be found in a variety of cafes, restaurants, gyms, high school and college campuses and more. Through UNFI we have access to 40,000+ retail points. We have also partnered with the Compass Group/Bon Appetite to share our Sparkling hunniwater through food service and corporate micro kitchens across the country. We recently partnered with Sage Dining, who will serve high school and college campuses everywhere. 

There is significant growth potential in our retail, e-commerce and wholesale channels, with products currently in distributor and 3rd party logistics warehouses in every region of the United States. 

What’s up with Costco?

Costco is now back in the fold. However, internal changes and corporate turnover continue to impact our launch date. We have quadrupled production capacity and are more than ready to go when they are. We believe the ease and convenience of sampling our new functional honey sticks (see below) at Costco will be a hit and we can’t wait to get started. Costco placement is expected sometime in 2025.
