Hi Matt! Thanks for your questions and interest in Hempitecture. The weight is higher than fiberglass, it's a denser material. A better comparison would be mineral wool. Our R Values are comparable to fiberglass currently, and through a research grant from Idaho Department of Commerce for $206k, we will be working with the University of Idaho and their Renewable Resources Laboratory to value add to HempWool products to meet or exceed all relevant codes. Hi Marques. You bring up some great questions here. We're about 2x the cost of fiberglass currently but we will be working to bring our costs to within 20 to 30% price premium over fiberglass. How much resistance to fire does Hempwool have if any?

Hi John. When we are producing HempWool in the US in our pilot manufacturing facility, we will be incorporating fire resistive treatments to the fiber that are inline with no VOC, no toxicity. We are currently working with University of Idaho and soon to be working with the Department of Energy via Oak Ridge National Laboratory to further evaluate the ideal fire resistive treatments that meet our healthy and sustainable goals.
