Love your products and story and excited to see Bloomi continue to grow! A clarifying question, is a SAFE agreement a current investment in the company (and translatable to shares when these become available) or does a SAFE investment solely provide access to future shares?

Accepted Answer

A SAFE (Simple Agreement for Future Equity) means you are making a current investment in the company ($18M cap valuation) but with the benefit that your shares will convert at better terms when we have a priced round. As an example, when Bloomi raises a Series A round (likely next year), if the valuation at that round is $30M, your shares convert at $18M. I’m very interested in supporting you. What is the usual investment amount and do you have any idea how that would translate to shares in the future? I just want an example to understand it better.

Thanks for joining us! People are investing a wide range ($200 to over $100,000). Any level is great, but to answer your question, $500-$1000 seems to be the most common level so far. We can't make any promises on growth, however, investors in a startup at this stage can see anywhere from no growth to over 10x returns. Hope this helps.

Hi Rebecca, in the Investor Info Night you mentioned the profit margins vary from 50%~55% wholesale and 75% direct to consumer. I guess these are gross margins? Could you share what Bloomi's net profit is?

Hi Kose, Yes those are gross margins that are common in the industry and also align with us. Net profits improve every year as we bring down costs but companies usually don’t provide those details publicly.
