Our Team

According to research from our non-profit partner Envision:You and OMNI Institute, the Colorado LGBTQ+ Behavioral Health State of the State Report revealed that 99% of respondents would use an app like You:Flourish to find mental health professionals, build a supportive peer network, and access wellness content created by and for the community.

More than 50% of LGBTQ+ adults struggle with a mental health or substance use disorder and the community experiences rates of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation at three times the rate of the general population. These disparities are due to continuing stigma, discrimination, rejection, isolation, and bullying, as well as increased difficulty finding mental health professionals and supportive peers who understand the unique life experience of LGBTQ+ people.

Our vision is to create a shift for LGBTQ+ people from suffering in silence to thriving in community. Ultimately, we believe You:Flourish will provide on-demand support to LGBTQ+ people that will save and improve lives in our community.

We created You:Flourish to give individuals access to vetted mental health resources and identity-affirming connections no matter where they live or the time of day. One touch or tap, and a world of possibilities will open up at your fingertips to support your well-being.

The app has a one-of-a-kind no-cost provider directory in which clinicians are vetted based on their training, expertise, and ability to provide LGBTQ+ affirming care. Users can search for providers with similar lived experience and personal identities, enabling instant rapport and establishing a safe space for treatment. After appointments, users give feedback on their providers to help ensure the directory is high-quality and community-informed.

The peer community and wellness hub features were developed using a custom, evidence-based behavior change model to facilitate sustained engagement with wellness behaviors. You:Flourish encourages wellness by creating bonds between peers with similar lived experience and identities to increase user accountability through social presence. Reward is also a vital component for positive behavior change. You:Flourish pairs interactive resources and engaging content with gamification techniques to increase both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Lastly, the app incorporates a wellness calendar to keep track of appointments and engage in activity scheduling and performance monitoring that allows them to identify which wellness practices work best for them.

No other app offers all these critical benefits in one package for LGBTQ+ individuals.

Our provider market includes an estimated 650,000 mental health professionals, and our user market includes the 20+ million LGBTQ+ people living in the United States. We are also including non-LGBTQ+ allies in our market, and approximate the ally market to be 2 allies for every LGBTQ+ individual. This amounts to a TAM of $2.9 billion.

You:Flourish was conceptualized through a human-centered design process involving focus groups and surveys with the LGBTQ+ community over 18 months prior to app development. As part of this process, we surveyed LGBTQ+ folks across Colorado and found that 99% would use a tool like You:Flourish to find their mental health provider and wellness content that speaks to their identity and lived experience.

Our financial model forecasts You:Flourish will have its first profitable month in Q1 2024. By the end of 2025, we forecast having nearly 54,000 providers listed on our app, amounting to over $5.4M in annual recurring revenue from provider listing fees.

Additionally, we anticipate 1.8M cumulative downloads with 91,000 paid subscribers by the end of 2025, amounting to $336,000 in monthly recurring revenue from paid subscriptions. We expect many of these subscriptions to be paid for by employers, treatment organizations, insurance companies, or corporations as part of bulk subscription agreements.

We continue to explore further monetization strategies, and these projections do not include additional revenue streams from sponsorship of wellness content and rewards, referral fees from provider organizations, and opt-in data collection.
