Q1 - Yes, it uses the same principle as a kite. However a traditional kite is static. By autonomously flying the kite in a figure-8 pattern downwind of the anchor the wind accelerates the wing. The aircraft is designed to stay light by keeping its battery on the ground. In strong winds it generates power and charges the battery. When winds dip, an AI controller seamlessly draws from that stored energy to keep flying. And if the battery ever runs low, the system lands itself safely and automatically.
