What do i get from investing?
Co-founder & CEO
Hey Jonas!
Thanks for reaching out and expressing interest in investing with us. Let me give you the rundown!
Essentially, you'll be receiving shares in Wedio based on our current €4M pre-money valuation. And as Wedio grows in the coming years, our valuation is expected to increase too.
When there's a financial transaction (for example, if Wedio gets acquired or goes public), you'll receive your investment back multiplied by the new valuation.
For example, if you invested €1000 today with a €4M valuation, and in three years Wedio is sold with a €50M valuation, you'd receive €12,500 in cash (that's 12.5 times your original investment).
And the more you invest, the more investor perks you'll receive:
- €250 to €999: You'll get monthly updates from us with performance updates, challenges, thoughts, and strategic directions.
- €1,000 to €4,999: You'll be invited to participate in our ongoing feature and activity prioritization with the Wedio team.
- €5,000 to €24,999: You'll be invited to a full-day experience with the Wedio team, including activities, dinner, a party, and a hotel stay in Aarhus, Denmark.
- €25,000 or more: You'll be invited to attend advisory group sessions in Aarhus, Denmark, where you can help us tackle our business challenges.
And the minimum investment amount is only €100.
It's worth noting that investing does come with risk. If Wedio doesn't succeed, your investment will be lost.
Does that make sense? If you'd like to chat more about this opportunity, feel free to schedule a call with me here: calendly.com/wedio/investment-opportunity
I can't wait to see your reservation!
All the best,
Daniel
I was a owner on wedio but moved away due to you shutting down the uk site because of theft. What have you done to rectify this?
Co-founder & CEO
Hey Graham,
Thank you for a great question.
Overall, we did two major updates.
1. Increased safety of our verification process.
How?
- Better KYC (Matching member-submitted info with multiple databases to determine digital footprint)
- Document Verification (Validation of authenticity and text and/or image extraction)
- Liveness check (Facial comparison between a live photo and the image extracted from the document)
2. Monitoring suspicious activity via automation & processes
How?
- Limiting overlapping High-Value Rentals (Making sure that one member cannot rent expensive gear from multiple lenders for the same period*)
- Extra verification on High-Value Rentals (Making sure we trust the renter’s intention by asking for details and proof about upcoming projects*)
Safety is our number 1 priority at Wedio. Our processes are not perfect, and mistakes happen, but we can promise we proactively work on making Wedio the safest creator community — every day. Furthermore, our affected lenders were compensated and are still active at Wedio today.
And of course, you are more than welcome to join Wedio again (maybe as an investor?)
All the best
Daniel

Am an international resident of the country of Bermuda and an investor too. Being an international investor, will I have difficulty accessing my investment of Wedio in the future?
Co-founder & CEO
Hey George,
Thank you for your question and interest in Wedio!
We already have international investors investing in Wedio, and you are more than welcome :-)

Co-founder & CEO
Hey Thomas,
Co-founder & CEO
Hey Thomas,
Tak for dit spørgsmål.
Det er korrekt, det sker ved et eventuelt salg af Wedio, eller i tilfælde af en børsnotering et tidspunkt i fremtiden. Det vil fungere helt ligesom, hvis du investerede i andre startups. :-)
Jeg håber det svarer på dit spørgsmål.
De bedste hilsner,
Daniel

If any distribution of profit sharing or income or Payback of some sort to shareholders???
How will the Payback of the loan be made to international non-accredited shareholders as income to our bank accounts or wallets??
As shareholders at least communicate with us on a bi-annually or quarterly basis or wharver is regulated by the SEC. I believe accountability, transparency and responsibility should be held to the standards of any company.

Hi George,
Thank you for reaching out. At this time, we are not distributing dividends, as we have not yet generated a profit.
We keep our investors informed through stakeholder updates. I’ve just reviewed the list and noticed that you were not included. I will add you immediately so you can start receiving these updates.
Best regards,
Morten

Am I still an investor of Weido because I don't see my Investment in the portfolio???
Co-founder & CEO
Hey George,
Yes — you are still an investor (At least it says that in our Wefunder dashboard). If you do not see it in your personal portfolio, please reach out to Wefunder for them to help you.
Best

How do you intend to compete with dominant companies with large market share / presence, like Fat Llama who have become integral and the norm for creators in London?
Co-founder & CEO
Hey Joshua,
Thank you for a great question! :-)
First of all, I love everything our different competitors do. Rather than focusing solely on the competition, we believe in embracing the value of having multiple players within our field to drive education towards sustainable P2P marketplaces.
To differentiate ourselves, we have implemented a community-first strategy that focuses on three significant areas.
Firstly, we position ourselves as a creator community rather than a "marketplace", with a specific focus on serving ambitious content creators. Through our platform, we utilize technology to help creators meet in the physical world, collaborate and become better creatives. Our member success team provides personal support, ensuring that our members have a tailored rental experience.
Secondly, we support international rentals, which is essential for content creators shooting in different locations. Bringing one's gear while shooting abroad is often impractical and expensive, and we aim to provide our members with access to gear locally. We already have multiple stories of Danish and UK members shooting in everything from South Africa & Antarctica to Iceland and Bali.
Thirdly, we expand our categories to support creatives only. Wedio Academy, where we invite members to host masterclasses and provide guidance on how to succeed in the creative industry, is the first example of this. The next step is launching a "buy/sell film gear" feature in May 2023, which creates synergy with our existing P2P rental marketplace.
In summary, our community-first strategy, coupled with our unique offerings such as international rentals and Wedio Academy, set us apart from the competition. We believe that this approach (over time) will appeal to creators who are looking for a personalized, supportive, and comprehensive rental experience.
I hope this answered your question :-)
How long is this investment round open? I'd be keen to take some time and learn more. I currently work in Sales for a Live Streaming company in the UK and can see the potential for others and ourselves. Both for us to access specialised equipment for bespoke events and utilising the contents of our kit room during the off season.
Co-founder & CEO
Hey Ryan,
Thanks for showing interest in becoming both a member and an investor. We are expecting to close the round within the next couple of weeks. If you're interested in knowing more, you can join our webinar on Friday by signing up here: shorturl.at/dgr27.
Alternatively, feel free to set up a one-on-one meeting with us here: calendly.com/wedio/investment-opportunity.
Best regards,
Daniel
