Why We Walked Away — And What We're Building Now

Published on May 4

this is how founders walk into risk.

We didn’t leave quietly. But we left together.

And we left for a reason.

The Jade House Project didn’t start as a pitch deck or business plan. It started the day our clinical team walked away from a treatment center that had lost its way. Where care had become conditional. Where compliance was used to cover—not correct—harm. Where clients became line items.

We didn’t leave to make noise. We left to build something better. Something honest. Something human.

That decision hurt. It cost us. But it also gave us something we couldn’t ignore: clarity.

Clarity about what recovery should look like.

Clarity about how we’d run a company.

Clarity about the kind of system we’d no longer tolerate.

That clarity became a project.

And that project became Jade House.

We're not moving fast. We're moving with purpose.

And we're building it in full view—with your support.
