Preparing to Cast our Simplified Axial Flux Generator Core

Published on May 8

There's a lot that goes into creating a new generator design here at Harmony Turbines. One of the key components of our new simplified axial flux generator is the resin core. Once we pour the resin, things are pretty permanent, so we want to make sure that everything is planned, considered and tested as much as possible before we pour. Some of the steps we go through are machining parts, winding and testing coils, soldering wires, placing coils, considering wire placement... all of this is precise legwork that's mostly been done before we're able to finally cast our first generator core of a new design, as is the case here.

If we do solid work in the planning and preparation phase, then the subsequent pours after that first one or two, become much faster and smoother. It's always that first few that take the longest to figure everything out.

Solving the generator issue is one of our three last remaining hurdles before we can enter into BETA testing, so we're excited at this progress towards making our simplified axial flux generator and testing it to see if it passes muster!

Thank you for your continued interest in our R&D and mission! We wouldn’t be here without those of you who have cheered us on or supported us financially by investing or donating, so THANK YOU.  If you’d like to have a greater impact on our project, please consider investing*. Not only does investing allow us to continue towards our goal of getting our product out to market, but you also become a shareholder in this opportunity! (www.startengine.com/harmony-turbines).
