Another milestone passed + why MLNP is especially a revelation to MEN

I received a wonderful message from one of our investors, a man, which has prompted me to share with you in my third update, the business opportunity MakeLoveNotPorn represents with men.
I wanted to highlight this, because I’ve observed there can be a tendency to think with a female-founded business that’s inviting people to make love, not porn, that our primary target and member base is women.
That’s not the case. Don’t get me wrong, women LOVE MakeLoveNotPorn. I conceived MakeLoveNotPorn to be fully diverse and inclusive - and we are. Our members and our MakeLoveNotPornstars are all ages; female, male, trans, non-binary; straight, LGBTQ+, asexual; all races and ethnicities (MakeLoveNotPorn is a global platform, with traffic and members from over 200 countries and territories).
But one of our most interesting learnings over the years we’ve been operating, is that MakeLoveNotPorn comes as the biggest revelation to men.
That’s because MakeLoveNotPorn is something utterly unique that men will find nowhere else on the internet: a safe space where men can be - and watch other men being - open, emotional and vulnerable around sex.
We regularly receive emails from men saying, “I just watched my first MakeLoveNotPorn video, and afterwards, I cried.”
Here's an (entertaining) exchange I picked up on Twitter that demonstrates that.
We hear that from women as well. Our #realworldsex videos are profoundly moving in all sorts of ways. But it is especially encouraging to hear that from men.
I’ve said for years that I wish society understood that the opposite of what it thinks is true. Women enjoy sex just as much as men. And men are just as romantic as women. Yet neither gender is allowed to openly celebrate either fact, and we’d all be so much better off if they were.
This email from a young man demonstrates MakeLoveNotPorn’s unique ability to change people’s sexual attitudes and behavior for the better:
The impact MakeLoveNotPorn has on men is important, because ultimately our mission is to help end rape culture globally.
This may sound like a big statement, but we have ten years of proof of concept at a micro-level.
MakeLoveNotPorn helps end rape culture by doing something very simple, that nevertheless nobody else is doing:
- MakeLoveNotPorn shows you how wonderful great, consensual, communicative sex is in the real world
- Our social sex videos role-model and educate on good sexual values and good sexual behavior
- Importantly, MakeLoveNotPorn makes all of this aspirational, versus what people see in porn and popular culture
A man left a comment on one of our videos saying, “This makes me want to be a better man - in the bedroom, and in life.”
