We are proud to announce that we will be exhibiting at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the most influential tech event in the world, January 5-8! With an expected attendance of over 100,000 people, STC is honored to also be selected for not one, but two CES 2023 Innovation Awards! Come visit us at Booth #3675 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, where we’ll be showing off bicycles, lunar tires, shape memory alloy demos and more.

METL: Full speed ahead
It was just last year that we first teased our fully airless, shape memory alloy bicycle tire. Little did we know we’d become an overnight sensation, featured in TechCrunch, FastCompany, Popular Science, Gizmodo, Bicycling Magazine, Bike Rumor, Cyclist, Pink Bike… and many more.
We know many of you are personally chomping at the bit to get your hands on these tires (the Internet made that LOUD and clear). In 2022, we:
- Worked with NASA to reduce the cost of our space age materials by 85% – THE #1 major risk that these tires would be too expensive
- Debuted and rode our first fully encased tire in Paris (the “astronaut peace sign” bike)
- Developed a better process to make our tires even lighter and more sustainable than ever before by optimizing certain materials and introducing newer filaments
- Created a new “easy install” tubeless innovation, so that our tires will be compatible with many of the great wheels and rims already on the market
Currently we are building and testing different sizes of tires, poking holes in the technology (literally and figuratively) and looking forward to going into production in 2023. Expect a lot more updates on this product still to come.
Revenue: Achieved
STC is in revenue as of Q4 of 2022. We currently have 3 large aerospace clients and expect to grow that to 6+ by the end of 2023. This means a steady source of income for the company. We project our “outer space” work to become a multimillion-dollar recurring revenue stream by 2023 or 2024. As a reminder, we are the ONLY company with a patented lunar tire capable of carrying heavy loads for upcoming NASA/LTV work and beyond. Where the space supply chain touches down, expect SMART tires, from small rovers to robots to manned vehicles.
Automotive Partner: Check
Ever since we started SMART Tire, we’ve heard the question: when can I get this for my car? As a small startup, disrupting the automotive industry is no small challenge, and we’ve decided to start by partnering with two of the best: Hyundai and Kia (see our last post about the Accelerate the Future Challenge).
