We are glad to be back after quite a long layoff. It's been an interesting month with the launch of Community Round and the ability to Petition the Startups You Love. Oh, the excitement running through our bones as we watch the different companies that have your attention make their way down our lists. We'll get to more of that later though, for now, Venture News!
Alaska stand up!
Thanks to the hard work of past Venture Partner Erin Baca, the state of Alaska now has a beautiful Matching Fund dubbed the 49SAF. In the beginning, it was a $500k match allocation at $25k a company and now, with the help and management by current Venture Partner Melanie Lucas-Conwell, it's matching up to $100k for Alaska-based companies. Look at all of that opportunity.
We can't wait to see the Alaskan companies that utilize that resource. Maybe they'll even do a Community Round one day. We can dream.
And, speaking of Community Rounds, have you been on the site? It is a beauty. There's a cool list of Startups that are already being summoned, there's a ton of pledges you can read from their supporters, we made this cool video for it with me in a suit, and our fearless leader wrote a great blog post on the change.
You be sure to go Petition as well. We know it's going to be a good suggestion. OMG, I can't wait.
This go around on Adventure Capital, we wanted to highlight Melissa Rosenthal, the Chief Creative Officer at ClickUp. She is viewed as a Digital Media innovator like none other after being in pivotal roles at both Buzzfeed and Cheddar Inc.
Now at ClickUp, she's making even more strides. Because of her awesomeness, they produced their first Super Bowl commercial.
I'm not going to spoil too much more.
Melissa's a legend, and you're about to learn a lot!

We have a super cool Petition for you: Soona!
Soona is a self-serve content creation platform, and home of the virtual shoot. You can create high-quality photo and video content from anywhere.
Between their multiple shoot locations, ability to produce remotely, if more ideal, and additional pro-services, they have become a trustworthy one stop shop.
Visit their Petition page and read what their Community has to say about why they should raise, and while you're there, Petition a Startup You Love!
That'll do for now. We look forward to continuing this conversation and building more segments over time that will hopefully feed your Investor and/or Founder soul. In the meantime, let us know what you found enlightening, what you would hope to see in the coming months, and sign up to start Raising and/or Petitioning a Community Round!
