Non Fungible is an asset that can't is not interchangeable (exchanged or substituted) because they hold unique attributes than others in the same asset class. Examples: Artwork, Professional Athlete, Trademark. Some of these assets are physical and tangible and others are digital and intangible.

NFTs are digital assets. Publicly verifiable intellectual property authenticated on a blockchain.
