Hi Emma. Great question! We are expanding our retail footprint in 2023. This growth will come with additional up-front expenses. Most people don't know that it is very much 'pay to play' in grocery stores. Companies like ours have to pay slotting fees (a fee to get a slot on the store's shelf) in order to sell in a store. Once on shelf, the goal is to expand the number of facings/slots you have on a shelf (to a point - there are diminishing returns) and to get as close to the eye-level shelf as possible. All of these steps require assistance from brokers to help manage the relationships, and merchandisers to make sure stores maintain inventory levels and keep shelves stocked. This model is tried and true - we have successfully executed this exact plan with our current customers.
