Skuttlebot: Your Digital Sidekick

In a nutshell, we are creating a digital buddy, landing somwhere between pet and entertaining digital assistant.

Most of us have grown up with the concept of what a cool robot would be. We just dont have them.

There are a ton of robotic entries, some are boring but do a job. Others are cute for a bit but lose their novelty.

Skuttlebot is different. We are approaching this with some core ideas in mind:

  • A personal robotic sidekick must combine personality with utility. More clearly, it needs to do things of value, AND be engaging in both design and charicter.
  • The relationship needs to be unique to the user, and improve the health and happiness of the user long term.
  • Responsible AI needs to be at the forefront of what we do. Data protection, and 'human first' intent goes into our approach at the foundation level.

What is the market? Whats is the ROI?

  • We project to be profitable in 18 months after investment
  • The same projecions show a 7X ROI in 3 years, 100X in 5.

This is possible due to the timing of tech development, rapidly growing market, and our strategy which will have us become a dominant market player.

Accurately scoping the market for personal robotics is challenging. It doesnt exist quite yet. But like smart phones were predicted by sci-fi, we expect most people to have a digital or robotic assistant.

Skuttlebot is a blend of a pet, a robot, a digital assistant, which we feel will see the same adoption levels as smartphones. So lets look at those:

The projected CGARs for both IVA and Domestic Robotics are important to note. This is a HOT market. Even taking a conservative approach of the market only hitting 50% of the smartpone market, we easily have a $1B SOM in 5-10 years.

We have hardware prototypes complete, and plan to launch a kickstarter after we recieve our first round of funding. This puts us with first deliveries within 12 month of our initial round:

With a combination of distinct hardware lines, starting sequentially, and SaaS software, compatable between our hardware range we conservatvely see a very strong financial projection, achieving a 10M valuation in 3 years.

Hardware

On the hardware side, we are opting for a 'droid' asthetic opposed to the 'cute' or animal shaped devices common from Asia. This build has performed well on social media and limited advertising.

  • Design is small, about 14”
  • Designed to look functional over cute (but is still pretty cute!)
  • Strong pilot character with a consistently positive response. (Millions of organic views, 100,000+ followers)
  • Head and Body can work together, or the head can be purchased seperately at a lower cost point.

Software

While being too small to do physical chores (in inital offerings at least), we focus on the Sofware to deliver both the charicter and digital utility. We plan to integrate with social media, productivity apps and LLM Agent level communications to deliver this.

Obviously that is a lot of computing power to put onboard a little robot. Hence we do it offboard, either on local networked machines, or the cloud.

Leveraging a cloud-based AI allows for unique experiences per user, and allows us to provide utility through integrations of existing apps. Even more importantly, it allows for a consistancy of charicter as the user upgrades the hardware, or when the user simply needs a purely digital version.

The vision for Skuttlebot is a digital buddy, that can run a wide range of physical bodies. Core to our success will be developing a bond with the user, ensuring a long loyalty window.

Let's talk a little bit about the company mission:

In short, we are a human focused robotics company. Sounds weird right? But we want Skuttlebot to be more than just a product, we want Skuttlebot to be a real benefit to the human experience.

There is a LOT happenign in the AI world, and while exciting, we are all aware of the risks. We see that. To start really addressing those risks, we first need to look at ourselves:

We often hear people voice their fears of technology someday taking over, controlling us, and manipulating our behavior. Honestly, machine learning has been doing that for a while now:

We feel that Skuttlebot has a unique opportunity to course correct with a product people have already expressed a desire for.

Why is all of this important to us?

We are seeing AI capabilities rapidly advance, with more capable tools coming out daily. Humans will be true to our nature, and we will continue to create better and better tools. There are no brakes on this car, so to speak. So it becomes critical that we start steering with intention now. We aim to do that.

Every user will be able to generate their own instance of their skuttlebot and be able to customize the personality they interact with.

Integration with existing apps can open a host of interactions and benefits, ranging from performing tasks on the owner's behalf to monitoring usage.

Having a mobile camera will offer multiple uses, ranging from drone-style operations, security, and of course, your own personal cameraman for social media posts.

There are a number of uses where Skuttlebot can factor into healthcare, from providing companionship where a person may not want or be able to care for a pet, assistance in slip and fall injuries, IoT monitoring, and more.

By integrating with scheduling and email systems, Skuttlebot can provide a number of orchestration. Want to communicate a message to your conacts who use different mediums
