What Skipit Is

Skipit is an AI-assisted streaming safety overlay that works alongside existing streaming platforms. It does not host content, replace services, or download media.

Skipit combines timestamp libraries, user-controlled preferences, and AI-supported detection to identify sensitive scenes and give viewers real-time choices. The goal is simple: skip scenes, not stories. Skipit helps people continue watching what they would otherwise turn off.

Skipit has filed a formal patent and is collaborating with UC Irvine researchers, clinicians, and trauma organizations.

How It Works

First, a user selects what they want to avoid, such as sexual violence, domestic abuse, animal harm, or flashing lights.

Second, Skipit monitors the content in real time using validated timestamps and AI-assisted detection.

Third, when a flagged scene approaches, Skipit activates the user’s chosen action, whether that is skipping, muting, or blurring the scene, and then resumes playback seamlessly.
