I am a huge fan of the founder, Sam Bousfield, his high acumen, wonderful nature and dedication to the project, so I am happy to do my small part to help him bring his vision for a Flying Car to the world. However, I am also aware that we are in the early days of the Advanced Air Mobility industry where the FAA regulations are still evolving and the commercial opportunities are still speculative. Without actual traction, with real paying customers buying and using Flying Cars in the world today, it is very difficult to determine if there is a good product market fit for the Switchblade, but Sam and his team have demonstrated that they understand these challenges well, so are demonstrating that there could be significant potential market demand through the thousands of reservations for the Switchblade placed already. The Switchblade Flying Car has a huge advantage as a 3 wheeler as it has a lower weight by only needing to meet the on-road regulatory regime for motorcycles which means its road-able configuration can also be appropriate for flying by avoiding the regulatory requirement of 4 wheeled automobiles that are required to have equipment like fenders. The Switchblade also avoids a huge FAA regulatory cost barrier by being certified under the "Experimental" class of aircraft regulation which was put in place to encourage new types of aircraft to come to market as well as easily allow for continuous development of a vehicle's specification as new technology becomes available, so ensures the Switchblade feature set is not frozen in time by certification. I have been a Personal Air Vehicle enthusiast since the early days of the first electronic flight control and electronic speed control systems from the mid 2000's, but it has been amazing seeing the Urban Air Mobility space grow and transform after the first Uber Elevate Summit in Dallas, TX back in 2017 that seems to have been the inflection point that catalyzed the growth of a new branch of the aerospace industry.
