I will leave that for the younger people to worry about. I do keep a large storage of good wines-just in case!
My biggest challenge...
Spinning too many plates. I tend to want to help and can get involved with too many projects. I am learning to triage and focus on a few verse many that I can make a difference, whether its in business or more related to social responsibilities.
I want to invest in...
I invest in early stage companies that have big ideas. Most of my investments are ones that I stage personally involved. I am currently focused on a variety of health and wellness including water technology, all plant based restaurant, and Ghost Flower.
I can be most helpful at...
I have nearly 50 years of management experience from executive positions at large multinational companies, to CEO of an early stage software company, to an equipment manufacturer turnaround. I now most enjoy mentoring and I'm also deeply involved with charter schools including most recently one aimed at the trades verses going to college.
I think we can fix America by...
I'm an optimist about America. We are still a young country and working through many issues including racism. I don't just look to Washington DC for solutions as I think we are most creative at the local levels, and that's the genius of America being a Federalist system. We have big ideas that move us in a direction, but it takes lots of local innovation and hard work to make things happen. My greatest concern is education that maximizes the talent of each individual person, including the trades, and having wider accessibility to quality schools. I also worry about to system being too tilted to large corporations and not enough to help small businesses grow, including access to capital that equity crowd funding is addressing.
My most influential mentor is...
I have many mentors along the way, and each had meaningful impact at that point in my life. My first was a math instructor in my small home town in Kansas. He tutored me such that I had the skills to get into Engineering. Later in life I had two marketing though leaders and personal friends, Ted Levitt and Geoffrey Moore, who had a tremendous influence on my understanding of marketing.

Curious how well the companies have done? Or how many raised follow-on financing?
Some fine print: 1) These numbers include startups currently live on Wefunder if they pass their minimum target. 2) Some startups use two different laws at the same time (i.e., Regulation D and Regulation Crowdfunding).
