How to earn the referral reward
Reg CF Company
You'll earn $2,500 each time a new company that you invite to Wefunder files a legally mandated “Form C” with the S.E.C. and authorizes us to launch their Regulation Crowdfunding campaign.
If the referred company is raising a Reg CF, they will receive a 10% discount on fundraise fees. Wefunder standard fees are 7.9% of amount raised, charged at each disbursement, but the referred company will pay 7.1% instead.
Reg D Company
You’ll earn 10% of Wefunder’s carry if the referred company raises a Private Round and files a “Form D” with the S.E.C.
The referred company must not already have an account on Wefunder. Not every company passes our due diligence process, so the payment is contingent upon the company being authorized to list on Wefunder. It can take some time for a company to finish their disclosures and file their forms. To earn the referral reward, there must be documented evidence of the referral, which is usually either (1) the founder coming in through your unique link above, or (2) an email intro from you to someone on the Wefunder team. This must occur before the founder has created an account on Wefunder. In order to qualify for the referral, the company must file their Form C or Form D within 6 months of the referral being made. You cannot work for the company you refer.
How payment works
Once the Form C is filed, we'll email you asking for a W9 (if it's your first referral reward for the calendar year). Once you've submitted this document, you choose whether to receive payment via bill.com or to receive Wefunder cash which can then be invested on the platform.
Reg D carry shares are distributed during liquidation or exit.
One referral fee per company
If multiple people refer the same founder, the decision on who earns the referral reward will be at Wefunder's sole discretion. It will usually go to the first person to refer the founder, but occasionally it might go to whomever was most influential in the company launching on Wefunder. We may also choose to split the referral fee between two people if each played an equal role in getting the company to launch. No referral fees will be payable for repeat campaigns by the same company.
