Jenn grew up in a culture where bourbon is woven into everything - marinades, truffles, chocolates, and yes, ice cream. When she brought the product to Dirk Brown, PhD, a Cornell-trained materials scientist and serial technology entrepreneur, his reaction was equally immediate: “We’re doing something together. I don’t know what exactly, but we are going to do something together.” That meeting changed everything.

Dirk understood something critical that most people missed: alcohol is liquid at ice cream temperatures, which means simply mixing the two gives you a slushy milkshake, not ice cream. The science had to be solved first. Together, they developed proprietary molecular binders that suspend alcohol molecules within the ice cream matrix at the molecular level - delivering the smooth, creamy mouthfeel of a premium frozen dessert with the authentic forward heat and cocktail character of real spirits. It had never been done at scale. Now it has.

Jenn’s background as a former University of South Carolina women’s basketball athlete - gritty, competitive, relentless - drove her to navigate a regulatory landscape that had no roadmap. She became the first person to work with the TTB (Tax and Trade Bureau) to establish federal rules for regulated levels of alcohol in an ice cream product sold nationally.
