Our Founder

The Story of Studio PAV

In 2010, Jay Lee, the Founder and President of Studio PAV, met K-Pop (Korean Pop) fans for the first time at a K-Pop concert where he was hired as the head producer. He was a veteran in the live entertainment industry and had countless experiences as a producer with 13 years under his belt when he was recruited as the producer for his first K-Pop concert.

Fans expressed gratitude in Korean on show day

When leaving the venue, fans greeted staff by saying “감사합니다”(Kam-sa-ham-ni-da), who just finished their first K-Pop production. 감사합니다 means Thank You in Korean. The artist who headlined that night was one of the hottest K-Pop boy groups from Korea and it was their first live tour in the US. The fans seemed to appreciate the staff for making the show possible as they were anxious to see their artist perform live. The devoted fans even learned some phrases in the Korean language to greet the artist and the crew as well. It was a very unusual experience, 'The fans spoke Korean to us'.

The fans wanted more K-Pop shows!

In the beginning, K-Pop shows were predominantly only promoted in NYC and LA, but due to increase in demand and popularity, K-Pop shows are commonly visible in every major city across the nation. Wherever it occurred, young American fans filled up the venues with excitement and passion. Dedicated fans knew everything about the artists and their songs from YouTube and the artists' social network platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. During performances, fans sang the lyrics in Korean and even danced to all the choreography. The appeal of K-Pop rose which resulted in more K-Pop shows. It was clear that with the increase of K-Pop, Jay Lee and his team would be more involved in the production of K-Pop shows in the US.

Doing it "ourselves"

After producing numerous K-Pop shows in the span of 8 years, Jay Lee and his team decided to challenge themselves to promote their own K-Pop shows instead of being hired as a production crew. Having already established nationwide networks of vendors and venues from almost a decade of experience, Studio PAV was formed and started with booking K-Pop rookie artists. Showcasing the company and building a presence online, Studio PAV created accounts on SNS platforms to meet fans and promote their own shows. The shows were unique to give fans more opportunities to interact and engage personally with the artist. Fans responded to the shows positively for the exceptional perks in addition to a live production. In 2018 and 2019, Studio PAV completed 86 K-Pop concerts across the US and Canada.

"We had VVIP tickets in San Francisco, and VIP tickets in LA and while both experiences were great, the VVIP tickets were a steal! Priority entry, album + fansign, hi-touch and group photo… priceless! I went from being a fan-Mom supporting my daughter’s love for K-Pop music and dance, to being a true K-Pop “fan” and 100% supporter of Studio PAV’s events!"

The future in expanding geographically and virtually

Studio PAV has earned $1.3M in 2018 and $2.7M in 2019 as the top line gross revenue. During the 1st Quarter of 2020, the gross revenue was over $0.9M. Studio PAV has more than 100K followers on SNS accounts with 1,000 new followers every week. In 2020, Studio PAV has successfully launched their own K-Pop shows in Latin America and plan to visit more Latin countries this year. The plan is to also bring the shows on-line. Overcoming the impact due to the current pandemic, Studio PAV is designing their future selves. “Our shows will keep expanding its market globally and on-line seamlessly.”
