Contained within that challenge is a critical need for bio-based, carbon storing construction materials that do not require a great deal of energy to produce. Utilizing what the natural world has already developed would seem to be the most practical approach for doing this. A natural material that can replace petroleum based foams would be a great step forward in tis direction.
