Myya: The most innovative and inclusive post-mastectomy shopping experience, ever.

Do you know a breast cancer survivor? Where does she shop for post-mastectomy bras and breast forms? Any ideas?

Meet Josephine. Josephine experienced a double mastectomy, which is the life saving surgical removal of both breasts after her breast cancer diagnosis. She shopped in a medical supply store and searched for prosthetics that matched her skin tone and fit her body. Unfortunately, she died without ever experiencing what I’ve now made possible... the perfect fit. Josephine was my grandmother.

Would you want the survivor that you love shopping in a place like THIS for such an important part of her body? Behind aisles of bedpans, laxatives, and adult diapers for bras and breast forms for the rest of her life? Medical supply stores and hospital gift shops offer a sad selection of ugly bras and prosthetics in one color and no one tells women that the costs of these items are covered by their health insurance plans.

And this is the reality for the 4 million American women who are living with a history of breast cancer who have emotional ties around this necessary purchase.

60% of women choose not to have reconstructive breast surgery. And 270,000 are diagnosed every year. Their chest walls are imperfect but they are alive and deserve a optimized shopping experience.
What began as one boutique, Cherry Blossom Intimates outside of Washington DC, that featured our tech product, has grown into an innovative tech company with a boutique feel.
We are the first direct to consumer, fully encompassing post mastectomy care brand that connects breast cancer survivors … across the country to certified mastectomy fitters using Telehealth technology, virtual fittings, home try on kits, and custom fitted breast prosthetics.

I have studied both entrepreneurship and retail finance. I am a former Miss DC USA and a Forbes Under 30 list maker. I’ve completely dedicated the past 7 years of my life to innovating the shopping experience of breast cancer survivors. I am one of the first women to raise over two million dollars in venture funds.

National Retail has neglected the breast cancer survivors that we *ALL* know and love. I am am revolutionizing the post-mastectomy experience for all women across the globe because every woman deserves to feel confident, complete, and whole again.

In our first 6 months of launching the first of its kind, direct to consumer, post-mastectomy telehealth company, we have hit the following milestones:

  • building and publicly launching the DTC digital consumer brand, Myya;
  • developing and beta launching the technology platform to automate and digitize patient prescription confirmation, insurance and reimbursement, and billing information;
  • developing and beta launching the consumer-facing digital prosthesis fitting platform (which enables nationwide customer reach);
  • established a 3PL;
  • developed the branded and customized packaging necessary for nationwide shipping of a prosthetic breast form and home try on kits;
  • designed and launched high-margin, survivor-specific ancillary products (i.e. breast drain pump belt, pocketed drain belt robes, and much more);
  • established formal marketing partnership celebrity talent and breast cancer charitable organizations;
  • launching our collection, including the first brown breast prostheses onto Nordstrom.com

By all counts, this will be our best year yet.
